Kirollos Saeed

Kirollos started with Humble in Heart in 2012 and graduated in 2020. He finished elementary school with good grades, but his father could not afford to pay for his High School education. Kirollos was extremely disappointed and sad because he was not going to have the opportunity to attend High School due to his family’s financial status. Fortunately for Kirollos, Humble in Heart came to his village that same year. When members of Humble in Heart visited Kirollos’ family in their home, they found out that his father had a back injury due to his work as a laborer. Kirollos also has three siblings: a handicapped brother and 2 older sisters who never attended school. Because Humble in Heart paid for his family’s living expenses, Kirollos no longer needed to work to support them. Humble in Heart motivated Kirollos to start High School by paying for all his school fees. This encouraged him to concentrate only on his education. Kirollos worked hard in High School and graduated at the top of his class. He joined the College of Pharmacy at the University of Sohag. He graduated in 2020 with a high honor and is now serving the church in his village.

Hanan Morris

Hanan joined Humble in Heart in 2012 and graduated in 2020. Members who worked at Humble in Heart met Hanan who had just finished 9th grade. Her family had decided that it would be best for Hanan to be married because they could not afford the school fees. Hanan and her family lived in a home which consisted of one large room for everyone to share. Humble in Heart took care of the school fees which meant that she would not be taken out of school to get married. Humble in Heart built a bathroom and another room with beds for Hanan and her younger sisters. Hanan excelled academically throughout High School. She was admitted to the local University where she studied politics and economics. Humble in Heart took care of her University fees which included tuition and housing. Hanan’s story also encouraged her sisters Marina and Mariam who are both excelling in their education.
